I want to deal today with a short verse from the book of Exodus that creates 2 problems for the price of one.
King James Exodus 22:28
Thou shalt not revile the gods;
nor curse the ruler of thy people.
Problem #1= "the gods"
Joseph Smith taught about a plurality of Gods, so why did he change this verse? Joseph talked of at least 3 Gods in the GODHEAD, and the possibility of others joining them as subordinates, but never equals. No one on this planet is every going to be the equal of JESUS, let alone His Father.
I am wondering how this verse slipped past the monotheistic reformers from King Josiah's day who wanted to eliminate any mention of any Gods other than the MOST HIGH. This led to rejecting JESUS because the Jews of His day could not understand how GOD could have a Son who was also a GOD. Moses obviously knew there were more than one divine being after having been admitted to Their Heavenly Council with an assignment to write the first 5 books of the Bible. Moses also knew that their was ONE SUPREME GOD, because Moses had to be transfigured in order to withstand the glory of the MOST HIGH.
Problem #2 = "the ruler of thy people"
Is this the King, the High Priest, the President, the Governor, etc?
No, it means the GOD THE FATHER, as you shall see.
Joseph Smith Translation Exodus
Thou shalt not revile thy God;
nor curse the ruler of the people.
Problems solved. "thy God = "the ruler of the people"
This is before Israel got the King they were clamoring for. They dreamed of being like every other foolish nation in world history that has one guy or gal with too much power. Why have JEHOVAH tell you what to do? HE is merely smarter than all of us fallen mortals put together, with money left over to buy another planet. Kudos to Israel for a decision dumber than starting a land war in Asia in the fall.
The second line is meant to parallel the first line and say the same thing is a different way. This was written to help boneheaded Israel (and all boneheads after) learn how important GOD truly is. Repetition is the mother of learning. Sadly, the Jews did not learn, which is why they are now Jews instead of Christians.
Joseph makes a divinely inspired correction to show that no matter how many Gods there are, there is only supreme Ruler, and that is the GOD MOST HIGH.
I am personally surprised that the Utah version of Mormonism has not trotted out this verse to support their version of the ruler of the people, aka the "Prophet." Anciently, prophets never ran anything, but Latter-day Saints are not the best people at doing research. Now we get 15 pseudo-prophets running a corporation. I guess some of the "devil's dozen" (15) realized the quandary of the first line referring to "gods." Since they do not really use the JST, they probably do not know about the revision. Maybe they could use this passage in the future to say that they are gods, because they are being worshipped as if they were.
This is just another example that shows that Joseph Smith was either the smartest person who ever lived, or he was getting help from GOD.
I choose the latter option.

Adam Lived 1000 Years!
Most people know that the King James Version of the Bible states that Adam lived 930 years. What most people do not know is Joseph Smith changed that number to 1,000 years. What I did not know and what surprises the heck out of me is that the lds Book of Moses (which is taken from Joseph Smith's Translation) does NOT reflect that change.
Can someone please explain this to me?
Is the lds church too cowardly to put in this small, but significant change?
Is it just that no one in authority can actually read?
Does anyone in Salt Lake care?
Is it the old "well we cannot trust the Reorganized church (Community of Christ)."
I guess this fits with the lds paradigm of not using the JST to begin with, because Joseph never finished his work. I do not care if Joseph only made one percent of the necessary changes in the Bible, I want to know what he did change!
The reason why this is so vital to me is that it makes perfect sense that Adam lived exactly 1,000 years. Adam was told by the MOST HIGH GOD in the Garden of Eden that he would die in the same day that he ate the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. One day to GOD is 1,000 years. GOD does not lie. Adam died at the exact end of that time frame. Time was different in the Garden, because the Earth had not yet fallen.
King James Genesis 2:17
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
thou shalt not eat of it:
For in the day that thou eatest thereof
thou shalt surely die.
Joseph Smith made no changes to this verse! There are hundreds of changes to the Book of Genesis, but not this critical verse.
Why exactly 1,000 years? Because Adam and Eve started out in a terrestrial state that mirrors the World of Spirits. They in essence started out in a higher state than we do, so there was no need for them to go back. Our two noble parents learned everything they needed to know and do in order to be redeemed by CHRIST and go on to enter Heaven. Since they had to wait for CHRIST to first be resurrected and given the keys to resurrect everyone else, they most likely waited in Paradise which is the highest level in the World of Spirits. But they were already sufficiently prepared to ascend.
Most of us are going to have learn a wealth of information when we are dead. The corrupt condition of the world today is not as conducive to spiritual growth as it was when Eve and Adam lived.
For example my noble Mother lived to be 92 years old and now has 908 years (if necessary) to learn and grow in the Spirit World.
A child taken at ten has 990 years if needed. If you make it to 111 years ("eleventy-one" in Tolkien speak), then you "only" have 889 years left.
The Most High God and his Queen, the Most High Goddess are perfectly fair. No one gets cheated out of their "Day" of experience. I can also promise you that someone dying young is not going to be complaining when they get to the Spirit World. Unless of course they did something so horrific as to end up in Hell. The lowest level of the Spirit World will be no day at the beach. Most people are likely to end up in the middle level, Prison, which is a terrible name for a place of enormous potential progress. The truly CHRIST-like people, regardless of religion, are going to the top level which is Paradise. If you do not believe me then read Doctrine and Covenants 76 and look for the references to the World of Spirits.
So Joseph Smith already knew most people thought the Bible was silly for many different reasons and one of them was that the original patriarchs lived apparently ridiculous lengths of time. If you are a fraud then you "correct" all of those long lives into something more believable to help sell your new religion. Joseph did not do that, because Joseph was not a fake. He made the first patriarch older, because it is the truth, however more implausible the number is.
I recognize that most of what I am saying is the Gospel according to me. I feel strongly that this is true simply because it points to the fairness and impartiality of our Divine Parents. I might not make it where GOD dwells, but I get the same chance and exact same amount of preparation as everyone else. And so do you.

The Spirit Truly is Ready, but the Flesh is Weak
Today we jump to the Gospel of Mark (KJV) or Testimony of Mark (JST). What impressed me most are the myriad of changes from chapter 14. This is during CHRIST's horrific suffering in Gethsemane. His disciples are so overwhelmed by the day's events that they do what comes natural to fallen men...they sleep.
KJV Mark 14:33
And he taketh with him Peter and James and John and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy.
This verse makes it seem like JESUS is sore amazed and very heavy. I am certain CHRIST is not looking forward to what is about to happen, but it has not started yet. I have no problem if JESUS were heavy and sore amazed, but the phrase does not refer to Him. Here is how Joseph Smith was directed to change this verse.
It should read:
JST Mark
And he taketh with him Peter and James and John and rebuked them.
That is a complete change. It makes sense if you look at the changes to the previous verse (32).
KJV Mark 14:32
And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.
What really happened is a completely different narrative.
JST Mark
And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane, which was a garden;
and the disciples began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy, and to complain in their hearts,
wondering if this be the Messiah.
And Jesus, knowing their hearts, he said to his disciples,
Sit ye here, while I shall pray.
This is significant. JESUS is rebuking Peter, James (Jacob), and John because they are complaining. They are doubting that HE is the MESSIAH. All this right before He is going to suffer for all the sins of all the world, including for 3 guys who should know better. These 3 have seen him transfigured on the Mount, and heal every possible disease and infirmity and they still doubt Him? They are lucky CHRIST is so patient that all they got was a rebuke.
So of course after being chastened by GOD the SON, these 3 decide to nap while He is suffering the crushing weight of our sins. When JESUS comes back He finds them napping on the job.
KJV Mark 14: 42-43
Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
The problem is that JESUS is not saying all of these wise words.
JST Mark
Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
And they said unto him,
The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
Truer words were never spoken, but it is the disciples who say them. This may have earned them some mercy. It does not excuse their behavior completely, but the statement is true.
After finding them sleeping 2 more times during this agonizing night Jesus apparently tells them to sleep, but then immediately asks them to get up. Or did He?
KJV Mark 14: 46-47
And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinner.
Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.
Of course there is something missing or why would I be writing this. JESUS does not do nonsensical things. Here is what really took place.
JST Mark
And he came to them the third time, and he saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behind, the Son of man is betrayed into the hand of sinners.
And after they had finished their sleep, he said,
Rise up, let us go; lo, he who betrayeth me is at hand.
Wow! It is almost too much to take in. JESUS has just finished the most difficult part of the atonement. He is the one who should be more exhausted than any being in history, but He allows his fallen, mortal servants to sleep. This shows the infinite difference between a GOD and mere men. The gulf between CHRIST's perfect love and courage and the disciples weakness and cowardice is almost not measurable. I would have fared no better than these 3. Truly Moses said it best after meeting CHRIST's Father, the MOST HIGH GOD...
JST Genesis Chapter 0:7 This is found in a revelation to Moses that precedes the material on the creation in Genesis 1, so I am calling it Chapter 0. Mormons will recognize this as Moses Chapter 1:10.
And it came to pass, that it was for the space of many hours before Moses did receive again his natural strength like unto man;
and he said unto himself,
Now for this cause, I know that man is nothing, which thing I never had supposed.
The faster we figure out that we are nothing, the faster GOD can start the redemption process. The longer we think we are special the more we risk procrastinating the day of redemption until it is everlasting too late.
KJV Mark 14:33
And he taketh with him Peter and James and John and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy.

JESUS and Joseph and Joseph Elevating Women
The title of this post is not a mistake. We are dealing with 2 Josephs. Joseph the man trusted to take the place of GOD the FATHER and help raise the MESSIAH. The other Joseph is Joseph Smith Jr. trusted by the CHRIST to bring forth the Book of Mormon and fix thousands of mistakes in the Bible.
As we get closer to the world's date for the SAVIOR's birth, I felt is appropriate to use a change in the Bible relating to that birth. The universe's most important birthday was more likely to have been in the spring time. The critical thing is that JESUS, a GOD, was born on this planet.
Today's JST correction is very small yet quite important. This is a verse relating to JESUS' earthly parents, Mary and Joseph. This information follows Joseph's vision of the angel of the LORD telling him to fulfill his betrothal (marital obligation) to Mary.
King James Version of Matthew 1:25
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son:
and he called his name JESUS.
Joseph changes one word and shows that Joseph is not the typical arrogant male of the time period. Their are proud men in every generation, but the Jews of the day seem to be some of the worst offenders in world history. As far as Joseph Smith's day, women could not vote or own property, so why would he make a change that in any way made women equal to men?
Joseph Smith's Version of Matthew 1:25
And knew her not until she had brought forth her firstborn son:
and they called his name JESUS.
Now there are two changes here. The first is changing "till" into "until". This is better, but it does change the original meaning of the verse.
The important change is "he" to "they". This shows that Mary and Joseph were in agreement with the name of the Child. Joseph the Carpenter did not just unilaterally name the child like a modern Mormon male. The two decided together. This is a marriage modeled after our Heavenly Parents- the MOST HIGH GOD and His QUEEN.
Some people will think this is no big deal, but I think it demonstrates the LORD's love of women, and Joseph's (Mary's spouse) greatness as a man. It also shows that Joseph Smith was a prophet.

The Children of the Kingdom are Cast Out?
Right in the middle of JESUS' healing of the Roman centurion's servant is a seemingly harsh statement from our GOD.
King James Version Matthew 8: 11-12
But I say unto you that many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
It can appear from this statement that no Jew, or members of the kingdom of Judah, are going to make it to the kingdom that really counts. Except that is not what the SAVIOR said. Here is the corrected version courtesy of the Prophet Joseph Smith:
Joseph Smith Translation of Matthew 8
And I say unto you that many shall come from the East and from the West and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the wicked one shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
There is one small change: the addition of the article "the" in the line "from the east and from the west." Makes the phrase more dignified and symmetrical, but it is not going to effect anyone's salvation.
There is one huge change: It is the children of the wicked one going to outer darkness and not the children of the kingdom. People who prefer satan to CHRIST get a ticket to outer darkness. People who love JESUS above all things get to enter Heaven.
So religion is not an absolute disqualification from Heaven. It is certainly still an obstacle. Why? Because too many individuals think their religion is going to save them. Of course only CHRIST can save.
There will be members of all religions in Heaven, even Mormons, but it will only be people who put JESUS above everything, especially their religion.

LDS Church elevates Satan and disrespects CHRIST
Tuesday December 11, 2018
I am not using the title of this post lightly. I have proof using the scriptures of the modern LDS church against itself. I know that 15 million Mormons love JESUS, but the 15 men at the top are not as deferential to the SAVIOR as they should be. It is made clear in the LDS church's own scriptures. Since 1876, the LDS scriptures have given respect to satan, and diminished CHRIST. I will explain.
As many of you know, but perhaps not all, there have been several versions of what is now called the Doctrine and Covenants. The first edition in 1833 was called The Book of Commandments. All subsequent editions are called the Doctrine and Covenants. Even though the doctrine part, the Lectures on Faith, has been missing since 1921. So really it should be called The Covenants.
There were 3 editions published during Joseph Smith's lifetime: 1833, 1835, and 1844. The first edition published after his death was in 1876 once the usurpers made their way to Utah.
In ALL 3 editions published during Joseph's life any mention of satan is done with a lower case s, meaning satan's name is not capitalized just like I have done in this post except for the title.
The first time the devil gets his named capitalized in mormon writ is in the 1876 edition. In every edition after that he gets a capital s. More deference for the devil.
I think it immensely symbolic of the god that Mormonism truly serves. I know the rank and file love JESUS, but the leaders of the church love Money. In Joseph's day the God of the religion was JESUS. To support that the revelations referring to CHRIST with a pronoun had the word capitalized ("He" or "Him" when referring to JESUS, but "he" or "him" when referring to any male humans.)
Since the days of brigham young (and yes I just deliberately did not capitalize that fool's name), the mormon church has referred to JESUS' alternate titles (Advocate, Ruler, King, Rock, etc) by not
capitalizing them (advocate, ruler, king, rock, etc.). So now the book has less respect for the Being that has suffered the pains of all people in an attempt to rescue them from satan and hell. That's OK because they have added JESUS to the subtitle of the book of Mormon. I am sure CHRIST is loving his second billing in the title of a book that is all about Him. Irony can be devastating.
Since 1876 the church of JESUS CHRIST of latter day saints has been diminishing GOD in its publications and elevating satan.
What could that point to?

The Sabbath was made for man
Sunday, December 2nd, 2018
Mark Chapter 2:27-28
27- And he said unto them,
The sabbath was made for man,
and not man for the Sabbath.
28- Therefore the Son of Man
is Lord also of the Sabbath.
JESUS' profound answer to the Mormons of his day. I mean the Pharisees. This statement alone is worth the time it takes to read the Gospel of Mark, but there are verses that have been left out. The original seems like a logical fallacy. Why is the JESUS Lord of the sabbath? The corrections made by Joseph Smith solve this mystery.
JST Mark Chapter 2:25-27
And he said unto them,
The Sabbath was made for man,
and not man for the sabbath.
Wherefore the Sabbath was given unto man for a day of rest;
and also that man should glorify God,
and not that man should not eat.
For the Son of Man made the Sabbath day, therefore the Son of Man
is Lord also of the Sabbath.
Now the episode makes perfect sense. JESUS is the creator of the Sabbath, and thus He is the one who gets to decide what is and is not appropriate.
And I am sure He has not expanded upon this to anyone since June 1844, so feel free to do whatever you want on the Sabbath as long as you avoid trying to make money (the god of this world). Find some time to glorify GOD and thank Him for the day off. If you are out protecting people on Sundays (fire, police, etc) then you are exempt. Heck, you are probably actually getting twice the blessings of everyone else.
Some people do not have the finances or luck to be able to avoid working on Sundays. GOD is certainly not judging them. If you are a rich man working on Sunday, that is probably another issue. The Sabbath is up to the individual's needs.
Point 1: JESUS runs this show, so stop worrying about what everyone else is doing or not doing and start repenting. JESUS gave us a day where we can take a break from the grind of survival and HE allows us to do with it whatever we want.
Point 2: JESUS values people over units of time.
Finally, I am fairly certain even 2 hours (down from 3) of listening to regurgitated LDS conference talks is not what GOD has in mind for the Sabbath. Seems more like idolatry to me. I used to waste my time in a plush building that would have better suited as a homeless shelter. Now I use my Sundays to rest: rest from labor, rest from keeping up with Jones, rest from wearing costly apparel to a spacious building, rest from boredom, and rest from religion.
Happy Sunday!
